Where to Park in Alhambra | An Alhambra Realtor’s Top 5 Parking Spots
Try not to bookmark this page…😉 these are my personal go-to parking spots in Alhambra that never fail. Spots consist of parking structures, reliable street parking, and always FREE! As a local realtor in Alhambra, parking is a common consideration for showings and appointments.
Parking in the Best Part of Alhambra
Alhambra’s Main St, commonly referred to as Downtown Alhambra, is home to a bustling crowd and a part of town where you’ll find endless food, entertainment, and recreation. That said, sometimes, it may be difficult to find parking…if you don’t know where to look! Here are my top 5 spots to park at, without fail.
1) 1st and Main Street, North Side Lot.
This is a great parking lot on 1st Street directly off Main St—don’t mind the Google Reviews, I’ve never had an issue here. The reviews commented on the elevators not working. If you have a wheelchair or stroller, maybe reconsider. But I have personally taken the elevator recently and it worked. There are two parking lots on 1st Street, one on the North side and one on the South Side. This one is the North of 1st Street and most of the time, I drive down Main St going in the West direction. Therefore, it’s easier for me to make a right onto 1st St going North. This is the parking lot I find myself parking at a lot. It’s directly across from the Days Inn by Wyndham, and diagonal and across from the Chicken Koop.
Pros:
Easily accessible, not hard to miss
Always has available parking spots, has multiple levels so you won’t go into the lot and not find a spot
Does have EV charging, but may be unreliable and not abundant.
4 hours free parking
Cons:
The lot has these large yellow bumps that can be a bit jarring when driving over. If you have a super low or sporty car, can be annoying.
Elevator may not work at times, according to reviews.

2) 1st and Main Street, South Side Lot.
A great alternative to the North side 1st Street Parking lot. Also free for 4 hours and looks nearly identical. This parking lot is technically slightly closer to the Alhambra Farmer’s Market, which is every Sunday from 8:30 am - 1 pm on 2nd Street and within walking distance to this parking lot.
Pros:
Easily accessible, not hard to miss
Closer to the Alhambra Farmer’s Market
Always has available parking spots, has multiple levels so you won’t go into the lot and not find a spot
Does have EV charging, but may be unreliable and not abundant.
Cons:
The lot has these large yellow bumps that can be a bit jarring when driving over. If you have a super low or sporty car, can be annoying.
Elevator may not work at times, according to reviews.

3) 428 W Main Street, between 4th and 5th Street on the South Side—Parking Structure.
A bit further down Main St between 4th and 5th St are two parking structures that have free public parking. You can enter either structures on South 4th St, or South 5th St. The advantages of these two parking lots is that you are further down Main St—so if you’re looking to get to a restaurant or other store/shop, that’s past 1st St, you can park here for a shorter walk and easier access. Also, if you’re coming down Main St going East, you would come across these two parking structures first. It’s across from Min Min Pie House, or Pokestuf on Main St. Note that the parking spots are a bit more limited here.

4) North 4th/5th St—open Parking Lot
Behind Chef G’s on 4th, one of my favorite restaurants in Alhambra, is an open lot that has free public parking. The lot looks a bit weird as it has a mix of diagonal parking spots that go in one direction, and also ones that go in both direction. I usually park where there are both directions, as it appears the single direction spots may be permitted parking only.

5) South 6th St — Residential Street Parking
If all else fails, or you prefer to find street parking, there is usually plentiful parking on 6th St on the South side. These are considered public spaces, so no worries about resident parking. Street parking makes your car immediately available and accessible, without going up stairs or elevators, so that would be the advantage. If you’re on the outskirts of Main St, parking on 6th St may be closer to your destination.
